Wayne Drury to outline Coast Tsimshian Resources story at Vancouver Leadership Series

The story of economic development for a First Nation Community of the North Coast will be the discussion topic over breakfast today, as Wayne Drury, Administrator and CEO of the Lax Kw'alaams Group of Companies takes part in the Leadership Talks Breakfast series.

Mr. Drury, who has been associated with Lax Kw'alaams for close to fifteen years, is the guest speaker at today's event, part of a series that is co-hosted by the Beedie School of Business at Simon Fraser University and radio station CKNW.

During the course of his one hour session, a Vancouver audience will hear of the wide range of developments taking place on the North Coast, with a particular focus on the the impact that economic events in the region are having on the Lax Kw'alaams community.

Among the topics that may be discussed at the morning session is the participation of Lax Kw'alaams in ongoing LNG Project Development in the region and how that involvement will bring training, employment and economic benefits to Lax Kw'alaams members, their business partners as well as to the Northwest in general.

In addition to his morning breakfast session which runs from 7:30 to 8:30, Mr. Drury's review of developments on the North Coast will be aired later in the day on the Simi Sara program on CKNW.

The Leadership talks sessions were first introduced to the province through former CKNW icon Bill Good, who hosted the breakfast sessions and provided follow up interviews with the guests on his long running CKNW program.

Mr. Good retired from CKNW in August, with Ms. Sara taking over the 10 to 2 PM slot on the radio station, as part of that programming shift, the Leadership Talks programming became part of her responsibilities.

You can listen in to the discussion today from 1 until 2 through the online link to the radio station here, or if choosing to listen later, the program will be available through the Audio Vault feature of the station.

Note: Mr. Drury's planned appearance on CKNW did not take place owing to the breaking news of the day of the teacher's dispute settlement.
