School District to host public forum on 2017 School Calendar tonight

CHSS is the host venue for a Special
School District meeting tonight to
review school calendar concepts for 2017.
School District 52 officials are turning to the public tonight to provide some final feedback on plans for next years School calendar, as the District hosts a public forum to discuss proposed changes that could see a two week Spring break put in place for 2017.

Through the first three months of the year, parents and guardians have had the opportunity to review the pros and cons of the calendar options, with three versions for consideration, two which feature alternate versions of the two week break and the other keeping to the current format of a one week Spring break in place.

Some further background on what the School District proposes for those three options can be found here.

Annunciation, the Independent School in Prince Rupert is using the two week Spring Break concept, staff and students of that school started their Spring break today, the schools of SD52 will have their Spring break starting next Monday.

Tonight's School District 52 consultation session starts at 7 PM at the Library of Charles Hays Secondary School on Prince Rupert Boulevard.
