Take Back the Highway Community Feast and Vigil tonight

Raising awareness of the missing and murdered Aboriginal Women in Canada will be the focus of Community Feast and Vigil to be held tonight at the Nisga'a Hall, located on Third Avenue West across from Save-on-Foods.

The event which takes place from 6 to 9 PM  tonight is open to all and features a Free dinner at 6 PM, those planning to attend are asked to bring a desert to share if they that can.

Tonight's Feast and Vigil is in recognition of the lives of missing and murdered Aboriginal women and girls, particularly those who have gone missing along Highway 16's Highway of Tears, as well the evening will offer support for their families who continue to seek answers from authorities.

This evening's community event comes as the National Inquiry into Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls continues its early steps of what will be a two year process of testimony and examination of the causes behind that violence.

You can review some of their work this far from an archive page we have compiled since the announcement of the inquiry.
