Nomination period set to close for Prince Rupert representative on Council of the Haida Nation

The process of selecting a regional representative for the Prince Rupert Region to sit on the Council of the Haida Nation is about to enter the final days for the nomination period, with the nomination form for residents of Haida ancestry on the North coast available until January 20th.

Those interested in putting forward their name in nomination must be 16 years of age or over as of January 9th and be eligible to vote, nominate candidates or run for office.

The nomination forms are available at the CHN offices in Skidegate and Old Masset and must be submitted by Friday at 4 PM.

The polling date and location of polling stations for the by-election will be announced once the nomination period closes.
