City scales back Cow Bay Marina employment options for summer

Two of the three job opportunities to tend to the potential fleet of visiting pleasure crafts to Prince Rupert this summer proved to be short lived employment options.

The change in maritime welcome comes with the City having now revisited and reduced its plans for would be dock hands for the city's Cow Bay Marina at the Atlin Terminal.

Last week, a short notice in the weekly newspaper relayed the downsizing news, with the City cancelling the Two Temporary Summer Student intern position for the Cow Bay Marina.

The Notice didn't offer up much in the way of background as to why the summer program was cancelled other than to state that the decision was made owing to unforeseen circumstances.

The City also advised in their notice that they would be contacting the applicants individually to inform them of the change in their plans for the summer.

One of the three original positions that were advertised as part of the March Job postings would appear to still be in place for the moment.

You can review the original job postings here.
